Fall is here...
I can feel the change in the air. I can also see the daylight slipping away earlier and earlier each day. It's that time of year again. Time to wonder where the time went! I mean really, it's less than 100 days til Christmas! To be quite honest, it's only 8 weeks until our Children's Choir Christmas Musical! Yikes! Reality hits so hard! Yet in all of this reality, there is still this gentle reminder that God is not concerned with TIME. He never ponders it. He never stresses over it. Now TIMING, that's another lesson all together! God is ALWAYS concerned with timing. His TIMING is perfect. When will we ever learn. He has such great plans for our lives and perfect TIMING.............

Family Vacation
Yep, we are on it...Family Vacation and we are enjoying each other so much this week. The girls are having a great time. SC likes the pool while SJ likes the beach. Go figure! The weather is just beautiful! Our unit is on the 23rd floor so we have a fabulous view of the gulf. Dolphins and sting rays are also gracing us with their presence. The water is super clear and the temps are hovering in the mid 80's so it's not too hot. I just love coming to the beach this time of year. No crowds and no lines at the restaurants. We've not waited once since we've been here. I'll link some photos on this post and will post again later this week. Have a great week....

Long ago, in a galaxy far, far away...
No, we've NOT dropped off the planet, we've just been super busy. Hi all! Glad to be back in the blog world. I need to sum up a month's worth of events and happenings so here goes...
1) We left for Nicaragua on August 1st and had a fabulous trip. We saw 114 decisions for Christ, cared for over 2500 people in the medical clinic, gave out approximately 500 pairs of glasses, pulled over 300 teeth , filled over 15,000 prescriptions and gave out over $100,000 worth of clothes, beans, rice and school supplies. It was a terrific trip. God was honored and He gets all the glory for all that was accomplished! It was a tiring trip due to the fact our clinic was approximately 1/4 mile from the Big White Tent (the preaching tent). We hiked up and down that 1/4 mile hill (or should I say small mountain), and I mean HIKED, 5 times each day. It was tiring and it was HOT! We left behind some very precious children who became a part of our family for 3 days. Each day, we saw them and loved on them and at the end, shared Christ with them. Please pray for Francisco, Yota, and Candida as well as the rest of the village of El Bonete.
2) Sunday, August 9th our church called a new Minister of Spiritual Development. Mike McDonough and his wife Amanda will be moving from Texas within the next few weeks and we are so excited to have them on staff! They will be a great addition to our church and we're excited about what God's doing in our church. Pray for them as they transition, sell a home, leave family and all those other issues that come with moving.
3) My girls are growing up! Sadie turns 2 a week from tomorrow! I simply cannot believe how time has flown. We will celebrate her birthday on Friday, September 4th due to the fact that we will be celebrating Shaoey's Birthday on Saturday, August 29th. Shaoey will be 5 and is just super excited about her party. Shaoey wanted a party with all her friends so because we leave for VACATION on Friday, September 5th, we decided to switch weekends for birthday parties. Sadie will have her party at Nai Nai and Yei Yei's house Friday before we leave for the beach on Saturday.
4) Speaking of VACATION.................I'm READY....It can't get here soon enough...........
5) Shaoey started 4 yr Old Kindergarten on Wednesday and she's pretty thrilled about it. She's still not completely used to the schedule and routine but that won't take long. She loves her teacher and is really loving picking out what she's gonna wear to school each day....alot like her MOM in the fashion department.
6) So with school in full swing, Sadie and I spend Monday's and Wednesday's at the park playing tennis and playing on the playground.
God is good and I am not worthy of any of these blessings I've just described. I've been reading a book by Hudson Taylor's son about his father, Hudson Taylor. I cannot tell you how pitiful I am and how far I have to go in the quest for the Exchanged Life. I do know that God ownes it all and is all I will ever need. I can completely trust Him in ALL things. Saying that and living that are two completely different attitudes.....from Hudson Taylor.....
"The Lord Jesus received is holiness begun; the Lord Jesus cherished is holiness adancing; the Lord Jesus counted upon as never absent is holiness complete...." "Abiding, not striving or struggling; looking off unto Him; trusting Him for present power;.....resting in the love of an almighty Saviour, in the joy of a complete salvation, "from all sin"....
Powerful stuff....God help me live the Exchanged Life!

Cupcakes for Breakfast...
Is it really awful to allow your kids to have cupcakes for breakfast? I hope not. I'm giving in this morning. At least SJ did eat some strawberries before the cupcake. What a beautiful Saturday! With nothing to do, I'm going to enjoy just sitting around loving on my girls. This week has been fast and furious. We entertained our staff from church last night and had a great time visiting and re-connecting after all the summer "road trips". CDP grilled some awesome Beef Tenderloin! Our family will be somewhat disconnected beginning next saturday as CDP and I will be sharing the gospel in Nicaragua while our girls spend some quality time with my parents. I'm always excited about the trips but the closer the departure date seems to get, the more apprehensive I become. I guess I just hate leaving my children for such a long time. They will be in great hands and I'm sure will NOT miss me one bit! Can anyone say spoiled rotten?
After Nicaragua, our family will then enjoy some MUCH NEEDED R&R in sunny PCB, FL. We anticipate a long week of absolutely nothing but sun, sand, water and lazy days. I'm really looking forward to some time with my family without schedules and interruptions.
Well, I'm about to go check to make sure my kitchen still stands. I'll blog again before we leave...Have a great Saturday, Ya'll!

A funny from SC this morning...
We were out late last night...I mean until 1am....UGH! Both girls were sacked out in their car seats and SC was, to say the least, not happy about having to sleep in the car. I figured this morning would be a "sleep in" morning but oh no...not my SC. She was up at 8am and ready to go. I fed her gave her a cup and headed to my room to make the bed and start my day. I noticed after a few minutes she had made her way into my room with "something" in her mouth. I was curious so I simply asked her, "What is in your mouth"? She replied, "candy". I then asked, "Who gave it to you?", she replied without hesitation, "Yei, Yei." I know that doesn't seem very humorous to you but you must know SC's Yei Yei. He is notorious for giving her candy. Not just suckers or hard candy but chocolate. SC loves chocolate! Anyway, here's to Yei Yei, the giver of all things "candy"! Have a great day!

At home for a while...
So, CDP is back from Peru and the girls and I have returned from our visit to the Grandparents. We had a great time at VBS at Hillsboro Baptist Church and visiting friends and family over the holiday. Now it's back to "normal" in our little corner of the world.
Nicaragua is fast approaching so I'll be busy this week working on children's church stuff for our trip. Otherwise, I plan to clean house, play some tennis, play outside in the pool with the girls and hopefully catch up on conversation with CDP. Ten days is a long time without significant conversation with your spouse.....
Many of our friends are vacationing this week and we hope they have a blast being together as a family. Ours is coming soon.....CAN'T WAIT!

Where in the world is the Pace Family?
Well, we're off! Meaning the Pace's are traveling tomorrow. CDP is headed on Mission to Chachapoyas, Peru and the girls and I will be in Lorena with my parents. We have a full 6 days ahead of us as we will try to see all our extended family and friends while we are away. CDP will be back home next Saturday and I'm already looking forward to it! I just updated my blog to accept Twitter updates so maybe between email, facebook, twitter, blog and cell phone I can stay connected! WHEW! What did we do without all this Technology!
The girls are great and growing every day. SJ is such a great helper! She has accepted the role of Big Sister with ease. SC is...well...testing me....I'll leave it at that!
As I mentioned before, I'm now on Twitter and if any of you would like to follow me, just look me up. I really like it...much better than Facebook. There are no gifts, tags, pokes or anything...just simple communication about where and what I'm doing. Check it out....
Time to get ready for church...Chat with you all later!

Summer is here...
We are full swing into summer around here. We slept late this morning....well, SJ did....SC was up at 7:30....UGH....and we spent this afternoon in the backyard pool (kiddie version)! Anyway, we finished up VBS and Swim lessons last week and I'm so proud of SJ. She took right to the water and her swim teacher was just PERFECT for her. She's pretty much got the swimming down pat...she still needs to work on her arms. SC is also Miss No Fear when it comes to water....she is NOT afraid. I must be on my P's and Q's when she's around water...and she's fast too! VBS was really great and the girls had a great time. I taught 4th and 5th grade Bible Study just like last year. I really enjoyed it and it seemed the kids were really eager to learn! I'm still amazed at how good the cirriculum is each year....great stories and great music!
I'm now a complete Tennis addict! I figured this would happen! Our newly formed league starts play tomorrow....We'll play doubles on Tuesday mornings and Mixed Doubles on Thursday evenings. CDP has even taken it up...It's really nice that he and I can play together! We have 2 weeks until we leave for KY and the SBC and then the first week of July CDP leaves for Peru and the girls and I leave for Nai Nai and Yei Yei's. August will have CDP and I in Nicaragua and then Family Vacation in PCB in September. Summer is full and in between trips we want to see another Redbirds game. Our Sunday School Class met at AutoZone Park 2 weeks ago for a double header and sat on the bluff. We had a great time. We hope to catch another one when my folks are up for a visit. We've not been to the zoo recently but heard the butterfly/birds exhibit was really great.....maybe we should take that in on a cool day...if there were such an animal in MS in JUNE. I'm sorry I've been so out of touch lately. Busy, busy and no end in sight. I hope all of you are doing well. I do keep up with you all via blogland and FB...although I may not post all the time. I pray you all have a great summer with your families...Enjoy God's blessings...Never take them for granted....We deserve NOTHING!

Sweet Sayings....
I just had to share a sweet moment I had with my youngest this evening. It's bedtime....she's clean from head to toe....she's asking for her paci's.....(one to suck, one to hold on to) I give them to her and rock her for just a few minutes....I finally put her into bed and I whisper...."I love you".....she whispers back..."too".........Priceless! Thank you, Jesus!

Summer is officially here?
I thought Summer was officially here until I stepped outside yesterday....WOW! 60 degrees never felt so cold! However, I have enjoyed being able to walk and not sweat so much! After tomorrow we will be full swing into Summer here at the Pace Household. I've already purchased ice cream, popsicles, jello, and all sorts of snacks to keep my two "hungry monsters" happy. SJ and SC's last day at MDO is tomorrow and it looks like our calendar is already full of events and happenings from now until September! VBS is in 2 weeks and I'm not prepared yet... but I will be. Tennis is actually going pretty well. We had a great lesson on Friday and I'm happy to report my serve is much better...amazing what a little coaching will do! The game now consumes me....I even watch it on TV! I'm sure that will fade with time but right now I'm addicted. The girls are so full of themselves these days. SC just talks up a storm and repeats most everything you say...careful there! SJ is growing up so fast. She's been sitting with me in church on Sunday's and I'm pleased to report is doing very well. She listens too. For example, her Daddy mentioned something Sunday about a decision that was...well...."stupid".Not a good word for Daddy to use. She picked up on it, looked at me and said...."Mom, that's a bad word!"
I tried to explain why he used that word and she seemed to understand. Be aware, little ears are listening...I'll update again soon....Have a great week!
Oh, and for all my good buddies who have already gone to the beach.....I hope you guys had fun.....but don't worry....my time's a comin.....LOL! Gotta run....SC is up from her nap and wants OUT! Later!

Better late than never....?
I didn't realize just how long it had been since I posted! Excuses are just that....however I have been really busy these last few weeks. Anyway, let's catch up a bit.....
My last post was of our Easter Egg hunt and the Hodge farm. Since then, I've hosted a Ladies Retreat Weekend, finished SJ's ballet classes, taken up tennis....(Steph, you will be proud!).....escorted BBQ judges (while getting to tast some good BBQ in the meantime), had a weekend alone with the hubby, visited my parents, changed out all the girls winter clothes, planted flowers, got the IRS satisfied and the usual laundry, house cleaning, grocery shopping, church stuff etc!
I'm tired just thinking about what all has been going on! The month went by so fast...I hardly knew it was April....and now May is here! Ouch! Slowing down is not even remotely in the forecast. May will be somewhat moderate in pace but June then picks up with VBS, SBC, Mission Trips, Bible Studies and etc. I mentioned to Cliff that time is passing by with WARP speed.
Our girls are growing up so fast! SC is as cute as a button! I have some cute pics to share with you of both of them. SJ finished ballet and has had a great time learning and being prissy! SC is now talking and getting into trouble....she likes to climb...I'm told my hubby liked to do that too...UGH! SJ will start K4 in the Fall at HBC 3 days per week. SC will stay at home with me...since MDO is on Tues/Thurs. I'm looking forward to that though. She and I will have some good quality time. SJ has become such a great helper around the house. I'm seeing her personality more and more. She is a helper...a peacemaker....soft hearted.....and very affectionate. She cleared the table tonight without being asked. She loves to be praised for hard work.... She really thrives on praise...and is also a "watcher". She's passive and really takes in if someone or something is interesting to her. Take riding her bike for instance.....she watched her friend MW ride her bike last week without training wheels. MW is 1 year older and her bike is actually smaller than SJ's. When we got home after our visit to the park, SJ immediately went for her bike. She wanted to ride. She had been sort of apprehensive about riding but I helped her on and she started pedaling....still with training wheels....but she's coming along. She needed coaxing....and praise....mental note!
SC on the other hand is simply....well....let's say.... confident! She doesn't meet a stranger...waves and says hello to EVERYONE....and likes to test the boundaries! The look she gives when I say "No" is actually priceless...however, it doesn't prevent me from swatting her little hand or uplifting that well padded bottom! Her most favorite game is "run the other way when Mommy calls me"! Her response when I finally reach her is "gotcha"....yes....it's all just a game...one that I dread having to wean her from! In all fairness, she is very polite and says "Thank You", "Bless You", and "Please" at the appropriate time. I know we have our work cut out for us with her. But, God is faithful....to help us parent both!
To be very honest, I'm having the time of my life! I love being a Mom and am overwhelmed every day at how blessed I am. God has given me so much...I'm beyond grateful....I'm simply amazed at how perfectly He has orchestrated our lives and our family. Watching them grow and learn is a privilege that I cannot and will not take for granted. God has provided an awesome opportunity for me to mold women of faith and women of the Word for HIM. I'm thrilled to have been able to be a part of such a great responsibility. I'm also humbled at the honor He has bestowed on me. It's time for me to put my oldest to bed. I hope everyone is doing well. I'll upload pics tomorrow....NITE!

Easter Egg Hunt 2009
We had a great time at the Hodge Farm this afternoon. Easter Eggs were everywhere!
Life is busy...
and I'm just about to catch up. Sorry to those of you who follow this blog and have kept checking back to see if I'd posted anything. I've hit a wall....a wall of too may things to do. So, I'll update you quickly as to what's been going on in out little corner of the world.
1) SJ is so big. She had another hair cut this week and is cuter than ever. Growing up to be a sweet and smart little girl. This new stage for her is so exciting to me. She is still loving ballet and will start K4 in the Fall.
2) SC has found her voice. She is talking up a storm but you have to listen carefully. It is true that our 2nd children develop differently than our first. She has many super cute little faces she makes in order to get a laugh. She LOVES chocolate....just like her mom! She is now 19 months old and that makes me sad. She's weighing in at 26 lbs and 321/2 inches long...growing like a weed but SUPER precious!
2) CDP is busy. Enough said....Easter is next week and that is a trip in itself. School is about to start full swing for him too. Many writing days ahead....Pray for strength for him and for him to be able to manage his time well.
3) I am trying to keep the house running, work on Women's Ministry events, and am Facilitating a Bible Study on Sunday nights. The weeks are beginning to run together!
4)My parents visited Monday and Tuesday of this week and CDP's Mom visited with us last weekend. Both are doing great....just missing their grandbabies! SJ and SC both have an Easter Egg Hunt today and then to bed early for church tomorrow.
Now, I'm caught up I think. There are so many things that I could have written but just wanted to give you a quick overview. I'm back.....Have a good weekend.....

In a rut.....
It's been a lazy few days around our house. But, I'm not sure how much more I can take. After being so used to running to and fro while I was a "working" mother (even though at times my running around was my own lack of organization and motivation), I've now settled into a rut. You do know what a rut is, don't you? I remember when I was young going with my Dad to cut firewood and at times we would get stuck in a "rut". It's a place where water collects and makes getting traction difficult, especially when the truck bed is loaded down with firewood. MY rut is actually of my own making. I shared with a friend this week that I find myself one week being on the road constantly and then some weeks, never making an attempt to get out of my pj's. I recall another blogger out there hinting on this same subject a few weeks ago. It seems I get so caught up in my own little world and my own agenda that I don't take the time to "be friendly". The Bible says that in order to have friends, we must show ourselves friendly. That means we must step out. We must get up, get dressed, pick up the phone, send a text, do something in order to communicate with those around us. What's our motivation? As a believer, our desire to be salt and light to our world should be our focus. This allows us to impact our world for Christ. This also edifies the Body of Christ! I'm guilty but I'm working on it. So, don't be surprised if you get a phone call or a text or some form of communication in the coming days and weeks. God doesn't want us to be in a "rut". I'm getting a running start and getting out of my RUT! Later!

18 Months Old.....
and growing like a weed! SC had her 18 month check-up yesterday. She ranks in the 75th percentile in every catagory. She weighed 26 lbs and is 32 1/2 inches long. SJ only weighs 30 lbs and she's 4! She's come a long way since August 2007! After a screaming fit when the Doctor tried to listen to her breathe and check her ears, she calmed down. Then the nurse came in...another round of screaming! SJ wasn't that bad..she was usually so calm until of course the nurse came in with the needles. I guess I'm in for a rough time with little sister. She loves to be held my Mommy and Mommy only! Even Daddy has a rough go of it at times. I'm sure she'll grow out of it soon and I'll be wishing for those moments of clingyness.
By the way, he asked me! CDP asked me on a date! Seems so petty yet so important....I can't wait 'til Friday.....date night here we come!

Still Alive...
We're here..... just being lazy and busy the past few days. As I sit here and catch up with everyone in blogland, it's snowing up a storm outside. Yes, it's snowing and sleeting here in North MS. After dressing the girls in short sleeved dresses and sandals on Thursday, I'm now pulling back out the winter hats and gloves! The spring weather was nice while it lasted however, I'm beginning to get a good sinus headache and I'm certainly going to blame it on the weather.
So, our good friends The Hall's visited with us last week and we had a great time just sitting, chatting , eating mexican food and just being together. Our girls enjoyed their time together and fortunately no real melt downs to speak of. As for my sweet hubby, with 5 girls in one house, CDP just stayed in his room and watched TV. He even let the big girls stay up late and watch movies and talk...FUN FUN FUN!
This week we'll get the girls back into the school mode and I'll take a little time to clean house and work on Women' s Ministry stuff (getting ready for our Retreat in April). Friday night is looking like the perfect DATE NIGHT for myself and CDP. I'm hoping he'll ask me soon.........
After taking some time off from walking because of the cold temperatures, I've started back again and it's really helping my motivation to clean and keep things in order here at home. It's amazing how much energy you have when you expell some energy....interesting! Ok, Ya'll, I'm signing off for now. Our SS class is socializing tonight...possibly some games....sitter will be here at 6pm.....Later!

Thursday Ramblings...
We've not had much going on these days....just life in the normal. Our weeks consist of Ballet on Mondays, School on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Church on Wednesdays and down time with Daddy on Fridays. Saturday's are reserved for preparation for Sunday's, since that's a huge day at our house. I've learned that laying out clothes for church on Saturday night helps TREMENDOUSLY! It's amazing how much time you waste looking for those precious white tights and bloomers!
We are excited to have our bestest friends from Atlanta coming to visit on Monday. KSH and MKH will be visiting us for a few days. My girls are SOO excited and can't wait to entertain our guests!
It's still cold here. Today's high was around 50 and our evenings hang around in the 30's. I was out and about today and noticed new flip flops everywhere. I am so ready for flip flops! Can anyone say SPRING! Later guys!

Home Again
We made it home last night around 6:45. We had a great trip and the weather was absolutely beautiful! It made me long for Spring. Our previous trips to the Atlantic Coast were chilly but this year, the sun was shining and the temp around 74 each day. My parents traveled with us and were blessed to spend some great one on one time with the girls. CDP finished up has last seminar for his Doctorate. He has pretty much decided on his project and after final approval from his professor, he will write his Thesis, then orals in the spring and graduation in May of 2010. It's going to be a busy year for him. When God brings him across your mind, say a little prayer for him.
I'm at home today washing clothes and just mainly enjoying the peace and quiet. The girls are at MDO and since I cleaned my house BEFORE we left, I'm sitting pretty for a few hours.....at least until the girls get home and then I'll be picking up after them! Now off to plan dinner for tonight and make the beds. By the way, it's good to be HOME!

I almost forgot...
..that I was fasting from the News! I guess I now realize just how unnecessary it is to be bombarded by breaking headlines every 30 seconds. I promise, I never missed it. The only real question I had was why gas prices seemed to spike and them never come down. I began to rely on the huge gas price sign at WalMart to give me some indication as to what might be happening in the markets. And, as I relied on that sign for some indication as to how the world was happening along, I also began to give credit where credit is due. I began to thank God for taking care of me and my family and to tell him, many times, how I trust Him for everything we have. You do realize it's all His anyway, don't you? Somtimes it's hard for us humans to understand we really aren't in control. I'm grateful for that! So, if you think it's impossible to take a break from the Headlines, give it a try. I made it 30 days.

Great Lord's Day..
We had a great day in church today. God really moved and it was exciting to see. It's begun to rain here and the temperature today reached a whopping 65. It felt wonderful...like a gentle reminder from the Lord that Spring is on it's way. I'm really excited about that.
This week finds our family packing up and traveling south to Jacksonville, FL. CDP has his last seminar to attend for his DMin program and then he will begin his writing phase. He is excited and ready to start working on his project. We are all tagging along just so we can all be together. As I type I hear, "Come on race car! You can do it!" Yes, SJ has been completely ruined by her father! They are sitting in front of the TV playing video games! Such sweet memories we're making tonight! Take some time this week to listen to your kids....you'll be surprised how smart they are!
I'll post again this week. Hopefully from SUNNY Florida!

Snow Day..
Well sort of......We didn't have much but enough snow and ice to cancel school and lots of other activities. I think God just knew we all needed a day off! Anyway, SJ wanted to play in it so I dolled her up and sent her out...No, I didn't go with her. Call me a poor mother....but it felt like 17 degrees and I just wasn't up to it. SC still has a runny nose so she got to watch sissy thru the window. By the way, SJ stayed out for a total of 3 minutes. Just enough time for me to get a couple photos. Hope everyone is having a good week.

Belated Congrats...
I'm late in posting my congrats to my hubby. He had a birthday on Thursday. So, for his birthday I had planned to make him one of his favorite meals and just enjoy being at home together. Instead, at his request we loaded up the girls and drove down to my parents for a quick visit. He's like that...just does things that are so unselfish...things that are special to me ....when it's really supposed to be his special day. I'm very grateful for my mate....my best friend...my partner for life. I love you, Cliff....always!

Catching up...
I've been trying to catch up with my blog reading today. I'm glad everyone is starting to post again. It's been lonely here without you guys. Anyway, a friend posted about her new recipe for her crock pot and I thought it might be a good idea for us all to post at least one new/creative/healthy/delicious/quick recipe each week. Between us all, we could have plenty to choose from each week and it would make our families happy with more variety. So, I'll try to start doing that...maybe you guys can too. I really like meals that I can prepare for lunch for my girls. That time of day seems so daunting to me. I'd like to have any of your suggestions as to small easy meals to prepare for them at lunchtime. I'm sure there are others out there who would love the info too.
I'll share one helpful tidbit...I'm not sure how many of you prepare the old fashioned Salmon Croquettes/patties but my mom used to make them at least once per week. Mainly because it was economical and filling besides the fact that fish is really good for you. The only 2 problems I had with it was the SMELL and the BONES! I mean your kitchen would stink forever and pulling out all those little bones...UGH! (my dad always said about the bones..."that's just good calcium"...I said "ick".)
SO, I decided one day to purchase the salmon in the plastic pouch....just like tuna. It has been pulled off the bone and no water added. IT WORKED FABULOUSLY! So, if you like this meal...try the pouch salmon. It doesn't smell nearly as bad and no bones! Add a batch or cornbread and some mac and cheese...YUM!

Last Friday night our Women's Ministry hosted a Ladies Night Out event...A PJ Party! It was so much fun. We ate candy, nachos, popcorn and watched a movie..."One Night with the King". We had a great time...here are a few photos to show you just how much fun we had!

Easy Recipe...
Ok. While I was mopping floors, Paula Deen was making Peanut Butter Cookies. I couldn't resist so here's the recipe...
1 cup Peanut Butter (Creamy or Crunchy)
1 cup Suger or Splenda (Splenda makes it a diabetic friendly treat!)
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
That's it! Mix ingredients and drop onto wax paper covered cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 12 minutes.
I just finished making a batch...it took exactly 3 minutes to prepare...I was finished before my oven was preheated. To top it off, it's diabetic friendly when you use the Splenda...and no FLOUR either!
Make some for your kids/spouse as a treat! Later!

Tuesday, Clean up Day!
Ok, I'm about to get started with my Spring Cleaning...yeah...a little early but you have to do what you can when you can. The girls are at MDO this morning and I'm enjoying the house to myself.
I was reading this morning about the Wedding at Cana and the miracle that took place there and the one after that...yeah the one with the demon possessed man in the synagogue. The writer of the devotion I was using pointed out that the newly selected disciples were off to a "miraculous" start with their new friend. Christ performed several miracles in a short time frame....can you imagine being there and seeing all that took place? Can you imagine these young fishermen who had left their families and the family business to join up with this passer-by promising to make them "fishers of men"? I'm sure if they were alive today they would tell you what a special time it was for them being in the limelight all the time.
Now, back to reality for us. Sometimes we don't get to see miracles take place. Sometimes we just get to experience the love of our Saviour. Sometimes we aren't privileged to be the ones receiving all the attention. Still, God is in control and on the throne. He is still in the small insignificant details of life. He wants us to love Him in the normal everyday ho hum of life. I'm thankful for normal. Many of you know that before this stage of my life, I always wanted to be "doing, going, being...etc". God has shown me that He wants us to live days full of "normal"....novextraordinary events, no fancy issues or problems....just live life for His glory. So........bring on the normal.

WHEW!
Ok, the tree is out. The decorations are away in the attic....and while I was putting those things away I found our gloves, hats and scarves for winter...a little late but oh well! Anyway, it looks really barren in here. SJ made a comment that Christmas was gone...but not for long I told her. The year will go by so fast I'm sure. Let's all make an effort to enjoy each day we're given. Like today, we are enjoying PJ day. Yep! Stay in your pj's until it's time to get ready for church. By the way, the NO NEWS FAST is working! I feel so much better not worrying about things I have no control over. I'm beginning to not miss it all. Hope you all are doing well too. That's all for now. More tomorrow...

Back to Normal...
Well, the hustle and bustle is over and we're getting back to normal around here. The girls had a great Christmas and a wonderful time visiting with their Nai Nai and Yei Yei and the Pace Family Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. You could definitely tell that the Pace side of the family is used to having lots of boys....my girls were completely spoiled! Thanks to Aunt Becky, Aunt Patti and Meme for ALL the DOLLS and girly stuff.
Shaoey really loved the "opening" part of the Christmas tradition.....she opened everyone's presents! Sadie just loved being among the paper....such a funny sight! We spent Christmas here in Hernando and then rang in the New Year in Central MS. We now settle back in to our routine of living and loving life. I have some photos to share and will get those uploaded asap! Shaoey will begin her 2nd semester of ballet next week. She is completely excited and loves to twirl around the house to ANY sort of music. I've noticed I have a creative child and a practical child. SJ loves to draw, sing, dance and anything artistic. SC loves to figure our toys and is very good at problem solving. How funny to already notice the differences in your children and to wonder how God is going to use them for His glory.
I'm excited about what 2009 has in store for our family. I read recently on a church website where the Pastor challenged his congregation to join him in a month long fast. A month without food? No....a month without...THE NEWS! He further explained that many times our attitudes and emotions are manipulated by the Headlines and the ever looming BREAKING NEWS stories. I'm convinced that we are living in the last days. However, we are to be about the kingdom business now more than ever before. I'm taking the challenge. I'm going to fast from the NEWS. I'm going to contemplate on the greatness of my God and the awesome gift I've been given. I'm going to share His love with those I see and let God take care of the NEWS! Do I have any takers on this fast? I'm heading to change the channel now......More later!
